These flakes come all the way from our friends at Crystal Candy in South Africa, the flakes come in random shapes and sizes, creating an amazing light catching sequin effect.
The are available in 18 stunning colours and they look stunning around the sides of wedding and celebration cakes. Quick and easy to use, creating breath-taking results in little time and at very little cost. One pot is enough to generously cover the top and sides of up to a 6″ diameter cake. You can break up further or gently grind to create edible lustre dust.
The flakes are water soluble so, for best results, avoid using on wet icing, fresh cream, or frozen products. These flakes are virtually weightless so 6g actually means hundreds, even thousands, of individual flakes.
You will need: edible glue, confectioners’ glaze, piping gel, a mixing tray, sugar craft dusting brush (or food approved paint brush) and edible lustre dust colouring in a shade close to the edible flakes.
Ingredients: potato starch, Shellac, colours E171, E555, E170, E172 & E466

shades can vary slightly within each pot, especially where outer layer has been exposed to light, shade accuracy – please remember colours shown are representative only and will look different on different PC monitors and tablet / phone screens.
Although not necessarily present in this particular product, the colours used across the entire icing colouring range may include the colours E102, E104, E110, E122 & E129 – which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in some children.
